Postcard Lottery – Lesotho, Saint Helena & Eswatini. Entries Closed, the Winners at the end!

I’m excited to be organizing my third postcard lottery!

This time, my trip will take me to three fascinating and quite remote destinations:

🇱🇸 Lesotho
🇸🇭 Saint Helena
🇸🇿 Eswatini

As usual, I will send a few postcards from these destinations along the way.

How to participate

To join the lottery, simply send an email to nexttrip123@gmail.com
with the subject: “Lottery 3”

In the email, please include:

  • your first name
  • the country you are from
  • what kind of postcard you prefer?

Rules

  • Five winners will be drown.
  • Winners will be selected randomly using wheelsofthename.com.
  • Each winner can choose a postcard from Lesotho, Saint Helena or Eswatini.
  • The lottery will close on April 10, 2026 (inclusive).
  • Winners will be listed in this post shortly after the lottery closes and contacted by email to provide their postal address.

Good luck to everyone!

Guaranteed postcard option
If you’d like to guarantee a postcard from this trip, you can still join — no luck needed. To do this, send an email with the subject:
“Lottery 3 + guarantee”A €10 contribution covers the postcard and postage.I will contact you with the payment details. Please let me know your postcard preferences — I will do my best to send one that matches them.I hope to find local postcards at the destination, but I also have a limited number of FOTW and MOTW postcards available. You can choose one or more destinations — Lesotho, Saint Helena, or Eswatini (€10 per destination).I will send a maximum of 10 postcards from each destination. Once that number is reached, this option will close. The guaranteed postcard option will close on April 1, 2026 (inclusive), or earlier if the maximum number per destination is reached.

Guaranteed means I will send the postcard from your chosen destination where possible. If mailing from there is not available, I will have it postmarked locally and send it from a country where international mail is possible. I will keep a record of the postcard and can share a photo on request, so there’s still a bit of surprise when it arrives.

Update from Saint Helena April 13 2026

I’m currently in Saint Helena, and the post office will be opening soon.

It’s raining at the moment, but it seems that the showers here are short. The post office, located on a small street in town, looks very charming — at least from the outside.

I’ve done the lottery draw — and due to a small mix-up while counting, it turns out there are six winners instead of five 🙂

Congratulations to:

  • Chunghin (Japan)
  • Eva (Greece)
  • Katri (Finland)
  • Adrian (Romania)
  • Pavlos Orfanidis (Greece)
  • David (Germany)

Please check your email inbox — I’ll need your postal address and your preference for which country you’d like to receive a postcard from.

P.S. Saint Helena is also home to Jonathan, the world’s oldest known land animal — a tortoise who is around 193 years old.
