Let’s make a holiday — the Day of Absolute Honesty.
No lies. To anyone.
If you don’t want to say something, you can stay silent — but don’t twist the truth.
The day should be sometime in autumn,
when the leaves are falling and even the trees don’t hide under their cover anymore.
All compliments are real.
If you say someone is kind, mean it.
You must be most honest with yourself.
Write three sentences in your journal that are completely raw and true — even if no one ever reads them.
No filters on social media.
Post one thing you normally wouldn’t — a thought you usually keep inside.
And yes, photos without filters too.
And of course, no one should get offended for honesty — only respect it.
Politics would suddenly get really interesting, and the balance of power might completely shift.
There should probably be some kind of device that makes lying impossible.
If that ever worked, I believe honesty would start to slip into our ordinary days too.
Would I dare to step outside on that day?
I’d like to believe yes —
but if I’m being absolutely honest with myself… who knows.
